Evaluation: Q3 - What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Bauer Media
I think Bauer Media would be a good magazine distributor for my magazine. This is because they have a lot of experience as they have been publishing and distributing magazines from the beginning of 1953. They also distribute the magazines in over 16 countries and have 19 million consumers which gives it a much wider audience. This would enable my magazine to become popular as well. They distribute many two very famous music magazines: MoJo and Kerrang. Kerrang, although it has different genre and target audience than mine, the photography inspired me slightly in terms of the way the models use their expression and the dark clothing. Since there are only two music magazine Bauer Media distributes, by adding another one, it would bring them a lot more profit that before.

 My magazine will be distributed in many places such as newspaper agents, Tesco, WHSmith, Sainsburys, and some clothing retailers. There will be certain times where it’s exclusively given free at a club or after an Korean/K-Pop event. This will not only give my magazine popularity but will also increase the income for me and my distributor as many will buy the magazine due to the fact that currently there are no K-Pop magazines being sold worldwide – especially in the UK. Along with this, my magazine will be circulated monthly as this well allow people to read the latest news, reviews and interviews of the currently promoting artists which is what my target audiences mainly wants. The magazine will also be available through subscription with a discounted price.





It’s very difficult to find date for any K-Pop magazine due to the fact that none of them are sold internationally; and even if they are sold on site such as e-bay or Amazon, it’s still very difficult to find any date such as circulation figures. This is because of the fact that K-Pop is still a niche genre, although has become slightly more popular in the recent years; however, no one has actually sold any K-Pop music magazines worldwide. The only magazines which are known internationally is the Sparkling magazine which is distributed only in Philippines. This could have a double take on my music magazine as people would want to buy it since there isn’t any K-Pop magazine that is available worldwide (which will also increase the popularity of K-Pop) but it could also be that my magazine will not sell as much due to the fact that there are many people who don’t or won’t know about the magazine as they aren’t many available to buy.
